Taare Zameen Par- A Heart Touching Story

Who says that movies are just made with a sole ambition of mindless entertainment without any educative knowledge or moral values? In an era of mindless comedies and action flix which have nothing in them except loads of immoral stuffs here comes a movie breaking all paths toshow that the flair of Indian cinema is not yet gone. Taare Zameen par drives home a strong message, making you emphatize with the kid, compelling you to draw parallels with your life, making one realize that some of the renowned geniuses were once scoffed at, but the world had tto bow down to their intellect later.

Released on 25th December 2007 Taare Zameen Par is a story which speaks about the fate of a dyslexic child Ishaan (brilliantly portrayed by Darsheel) and his day to day dealings with life. He is filled with wonders which no one else seems to appreciate. When he gets into far more troubles, he is packed off and sent to a boarding school. Things are no different at his new school and Ishaan has to contend with tthe trauma of separation from his family

One day a new teacher bursts into the class who infects the students with hope and optimism. He breaks all rules of 'how things are done' by asking them to think, dream and imagine. He discovers that Ishaan is a dyslexic child and ultimately helps him to find himself.

A number of sequences in the movie make you spell bound and leave you moist eyed. The bonding between Ishaan and his mother is remarkable. But the best part is reserved for the finale. The art competition in the penultimate twenty minutes. The emotions reach a all time high as the child regains his confidence. The movie also speaks about the present education system in India which is purely based on mugging and bookish knowledge.Taare Zameen Par entirely belongs to Darsheel who enacts the role of Ishaan.A performance that makes the best of performance pale in comparison. On the whole Taare Zameen Par is an outstanding work of cinema.
On whole I would just say one thing for those who have not seen this movie “Do yourself a favour, watch Taare Zameen Par".

Deshdrohi- A Journey of Laughter

Everyone at least once in their lifetime aspire to see themselves on the silver screen but harsh reality hits back at us everytime that we don’t have what is called as the ‘star look’. But here’s a movie that tares apart all these myths. It just shows what is really required is not looks but a big
bank balance so that you can produce and act in your movie without any restriction. After watching this movie I am sure your dreams of becoming the actor will be reborn again.

“Deshdrohi” breaks all the conventional paths of film making and delivers to you what is known as an ultimate masterpiece of Indian Cinema. So is Deshdrohi really good?
Guys don’t mistake my words. The movie is bizarre and mind you has so many potholes that you honestly forget your count, counting them. But still these potholes lead to the foundation of what we call the masterpiece entertainer. You just jump off your seats and burst into laughter though it made with an intension of making a serious movie. The only difference between a comedy movie and “Deshdrohi” is that you don’t laugh with the movie but laugh at the movie.

The movie takes off with our super cool dude (sarcastic) gaaon ka ladka Raja (epic performance by KRK) coming to Mumbai to become a police officer (Ha Ha the biggest joke in the movie). He gets victimized to the so called “Marathi and UP Bihari” war and realizes that the northies actually do have a tough life living in Mumbai. He meets Sonia (Gracy Singh) an Indian version of Charlie’s Angel who comes always at the right time reaches to help the victimized people who suffer at the hands at the local Gunda’s. Raja accidentally kills a person in a bash with the villains and ends up being a Deshdrohi.

KRK(Kamaal Rashid Khan) delivers an excellent performance as Raja. I am sure once a person watches his performance no doubt you turn up being his fan. His dialogue delivery is so good that you don’t feel he is delivering a dialogue. His dance steps beat those of Hrithik’s
and mind you Hrithik will be on his way to take some coaching from our very own KRK. A whole blog can be written on KRK’s mannerisms but I am resisting my self to only this much.

Gracy Singh shows it to the world how desperate she is for work. I mean is she the one who acted in great movies like Lagaan and Munnabhai MBBS? I sincerely plead the producers to give her some work so that we don’t see such waste of talent. The supporting cast Manoj Tiwari, Aman Verma, Kader Khan, Ranjit have proved that there is no other director signing them.

The dialogues and the songs are the next things which are truly memorable. The dialogues like “Jitni nafrat humare liye tumhare dil mein hai” and “Jab Soniya marti hai tho aadmi ut jaatha hai” are the highlight of the movie. The songs “Tera Vaada Raha” a spoof of Guzarish and “Tu Jaan se Pyaara” just leave you spell bound (Ha Ha).

On whole never mind you are a bollywood fan or not please do watch “Deshdrohi” because I bet you it is going to be the most memorable film of your life.

DEV D- A Torturous Athyachaar

The art of making pathetic movies is present in almost every director in the b-town. But what differentiates Anurag Kashyap (Director of Dev D) from others is unique gift which he has of torturing his audiences with his movies. After making a horrible “NO Smoking” Kashyap returns with the formula of Emotional Athyachaar in his new venture “DEV D”.

The movie is a contemporary adaptation of the Sharat Chandra novel “Devdas”. The movie begins with the main protagonist Dev (Abhay Deol) who ha been sent to London for studies asking his childhood love Paro (Mahi Gill)to send him a nude pic of the latter which the latter eventually
ends up sending. Aroused by the pic Dev returns to Punjab his native.

Dev meets Paro and both endeavor to make love (have s**) but eventually fail every time. Sunil( donno his real name)a local spreads rumours about Paro to Dev telling that she is one of the biggest whores of the village and has had physical relations with many men including him. Dev gets instigates by this refuses to make love with Paro after the latter makes the whole arrangement of the program in the fields. Dev leaves Paro and she gets married to Bhuvan.

The movie then shifts focus to Lene (Kalki Koechlin) the daughter of the Canadian Ambassador in India who gets involved in an MMS scandal and thus ending up as a call girl in Delhi. Dev shifts to Delhi and transforms himself into a big time alcoholic. He gets confronted with a pimp Chunni (really funny) who has a pink car (the only man to have so). Chunni takes Dev to Chanda but he hates her in their first meeting but Chanda on the contrary falls in love with Dev in their first meeting. Dev calls Paro to his lodge in Delhi where he expresses his love to her but the latter asks him to forget her and in the course ends up insulting him.

Frustrated Dev goes back to Chanda and then starts a torturous saga of melodrama filled with loud music which makes you suffocate to death. It is said that Indians lack the element of Unconventional cinema. But if this is unconventional I prefer the usual naach-gaana anyday.

The only good moment in the movie is the superhit shaadi track “Emotional Athyachaar” by Patna Ke Presleys. But no one on earth is such a big fool to pay the theatre ticket to just catch a song which is repeatedly played on all TV channels.Abhay Deol shines in his role as Dev. But the movie is too boring for people to recognize it. Mahi Gill is first rate as Paro. But the real disappointment comes from Kalki who does not live upto the expectation of the role. A real miscast as Chanda
.

While watching Dev D you just feel that you are stuck in middle of a creepy maze which only scares you and you tend to save your life by rushing out of the theatre. After undergoing the horrible Athyachaar for three hours I warn you guys “just stay out of it”.

On whole DEV D is a bizarre, horrifying, terrible (falling short of adjectives) experience which turns out to be worst than a nightmare. Just one request to Anurag Kashyap “Stop torturing the audiences”.
